Richard Matlock is a distinguished attorney specializing in federal, state, and local tax planning, corporate law, business formations, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, real estate, and estate planning. With a strong focus on representing individuals, LLCs, partnerships, and corporations, Richard excels in tax planning and transactional law, assisting clients with business formations, mergers, and day-to-day business matters.

Richard’s expertise extends to estate and business succession planning, wealth transfer, asset protection, and probate matters, drafting essential documents like wills and trusts. He also represents clients in federal and state tax litigation and audits, covering a wide range of tax controversies.

A native of Bolivar, Tennessee, Richard graduated with high honors from The University of Tennessee in 1989 and earned his law degree in 1992. He further specialized with an LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Miami School of Law. Practicing at Woolf McClane since its inception, he is an active member of various bar associations and has served on the Board of Directors of Knoxville Habitat for Humanity.
